So I am thinking of getting Anne White’s  Plutarch Primer. Has anyone used it?

Can you tell me how it’s divided? E.g.: lessons, chapters, etc?   I’m looking at our terms and  weeks and days, trying to decide on  how to break it all down, and if it will fit.

    TIA

I don’t have this particular book but I have one of her Plutarch Project books that contain 3 of Plutarch’s lives. I am assuming this one is similar but has some of her thoughts and tips on teaching Plutarch added in.

The book I have is exactly like the free lessons available at Ambleside Online. Each life is broken up into 12 lessons to fit one lesson per week and to wrap each life up in a 12 week term.

Each reading starts with an introduction and vocabulary and then the day’s reading is presented. Afterward some narration and discussion questions are provided.

Anne’s guides make Plutarch feel more doable and I don’t think I would attempt Plutarch without them though many others have and continue to do so.

We have only covered one life so far but I am planning on beginning a new one in July.
