Hello if anyone is doing Mod 1 this year or has already done it would it be too much to ask for you to post an overview of your first term/year? I am needing help planning our first term, I think when I get past it and learn it all I will do fine with the rest. I am trying to get this done, so we can start our school year the second week of Aug. Thanks!!!Smile

What exactly do you mean by overview? Like how many days a week for each lesson?

I mean your schedule, books you are using for History, Geography, and Lit. The overview of what your term looks like in terms of books your using, links your using those sort of things. Im sorry I didn’t mean to be confusing.Smile

There is a great list of Module books from misceegee that i printed out a few months ago that categorized each module’s recommended list of books by age. I can’t find the link now, but it is so helpful, if you can locate it on this forum somehow. Maybe pm misceegee??

Here is a link to the books for Module 1. My schedule follows how Module 1 is laid out. It is extremely easy to follow.

How old are your kids? I posted pretty much our year (it coincides with Module 1, but I didn’t use the scm handbook so there are a lot more books for Ancient History) on another thread titled “how long for a 4th grader?” Maybe that will help some. 🙂  btw I started with just a 7 yo but have added a 9 yo.

I plan to the follow more or less the SCM Module 1 handbook “Genesis through Deuteronomy” for world history, geography and Bible with my DD 6. I plan to do Bible reading every day, world history and geography once a week. I got the book “The true story of Noah’s Ark” for Bible lesson, besides the Bible of course. For geography we will use Uncle Josh’s Outline Maps and “A Child’s geography :Explore the Holy Land”. History lessons include Chapter 3 of Oxford’s First Ancient History (Children’s version) and” Boy of the Pyramids”. I already bought Pyramids but after reading it I may put that off till we hit the next cycle. I will also check out “the Mystery of the Hieroglyphs”.
