My current 8th grader is using a Bob Jones science this year.  He does not like it.

Any thoughts on Survey of Science History & Concepts (MasterBooks.com) that uses the Tiner books Exploring The World of Mathematics, Exploring The World of Physics, Exploring The World of Biology, Exploring The World of Chemistry?

    or

    Novare Physical Science?

(He is completing Algebra 1 and will be taking Jacob’s Geometry in the fall.)

I bought Survey of science history and Concepts of Biogeography & Astronomy for next year for an 8th grader. I am calling it physical science.

Being that your son did earth science this year, he probably wouldn’t need the Concepts of …

I added it in part because the schedule for the other one is 3-4 days per week,  and we are doing written narrations instead of worksheets, so I need to add to it. Lab day will help, for which I have ACE lab dvds.  You could use You Tube videos.

Another option would be to skip physical science and do Master Book’s Advanced Pre Med (which is biology).

Followed by Chemistry and physics.   We are using guesthollow.com and the 101 dvd series for chemistry and physics.

    Thank you, retrofam.

He actually did Earth Science in 7th grade and is currently taking Life Science.
