Does anyone have any solid book recommendations for parenting elementary aged children? My oldest is seven and I’m feeling a bit out of my element, wondering if certain behaviors are normal, how to handle them and foster healthy relationships with him, etc. Christian worldviews are especially appreciated!
Morgan1ParticipantI read Shepherding a child’s heart by Todd Tripp when my kids were younger. It can be applied to all ages and the author is a Christian pastor. HTH 😊

Zelena O’SullivanParticipantGrace Based Parenting by Dr. Tim Kimmel was very helpful. He is a Christian doctor and author and the information is biblically based.
Karen SmithModeratorFor parenting boys I highly recommend Raising Real Men by Hal and Melanie Young. It will help you understand boys, their behavior, and how to parent them.

sarah2106ParticipantIsrael Wayne has a new book coming out soon Raising them Up – Parenting for Christians that I am really looking forward too. I have heard him speak and read a couple of his books and they are insightful and Biblically based. I just finished Pitchin’ a Fit overcoming angry and stressed out parenting by him and it was really good.
sarah2106ParticipantRaising Real Men is a favorite of mine. They also have another book about raising tweens that was really good. I have reread chapters of both of those books often.
