    1. Ok evidently the price on the oxford ancient history is down…would you recommend using that one or ancient Egypt and her neighbors for a first grader and k4 tag a long?

I would go with Ancient Egypt and Her Neighbors.  I wasn’t a big fan of the Oxford’s evolutionary material.  I don’t remember anything being scheduled into the lessons, but there are pictures in the books of “early man”.

I have heard some reviews of people who struggled with AE & Her Neighbors with younger DC, but mine enjoyed it.  You can always read aloud a chapter or two from the sample pages and see how it goes…we often do that if I’m not sure about how something will go over with them.

I agree with Hollys, definitely Ancient Egypt and Her Neighbors for young children.  But, read the samples to help you make that decision.

Agreed, we had both and loved Ancient Egypt and Her Neighbors.  With just younger kids if the reading is too much then try breaking each reading into two parts of the day. 🙂 But if they are used to read alouds it should go great.
