I like what I see at cozi – family calendar and to-do lists, etc. I read about using it with google calendar and not with ical. However, I’ve been a pen and paper gal. Do I need to use google cal or ical or can cozi stand on it’s own?

    Thanks,

    Christie

I just got done playing with Cozi for my fall schedule, and I think I may be in love.  I planned our days, it easily allows me to pick M/W/F or T/H or M/F, whatever I want!  I can create a list (under the shopping lists) called “library books” so I can have my library book list with me at garage sales, bookstores, libraries, etc.

I love that it links to my ipod touch!

In my opinion, Cozi can stand alone easily.  I have liked ical, but it just doesn’t link with much.  cozi is color coded, organized, there is even a journal function for that little moment you don’t want to miss!  I LOVE it!

What is Cozi?  Is there a link?  My calendar “broke” on my phone, so I need a new one that will link to my Google calendar (which is also linked with my dh’s, and both of our computers – how’s that for confusing?  LOL).

Cozi is an online calendar, that allows you to make changes online, and it will automatically update the calendar on your phone, your husbands cozi calendar, etc.  (If you have the free app – I have an ipod, and there is an app, there is also one for droid, and you can also access it from any mobile phone, etc).

I am not sure if you can link it to a google calendar, but it would pretty much take the place of one.

    Example:

I make a dentist appointment for tomorrow.  I put it on my ipod in the Cozi app.  It immediately updates my husbands cozi calendar, so if he looks at his app, or his calendar at cozi.com he will see the dentist appointment.  The same goes for a grocery list.  I can add items to the list, and he will immediately be able to see them on his phone!

    The link is http://www.cozi.com

I actually went in and added our entire schedule for the fall onto it!  I was able to color code it, mark which days for what assignments, start and stop days, everything!  Check it out 🙂

I used the FlyLady Cozi for a while and didn’t care for it. Too many issues. I have not tried the “regular” Cozi. I am a pen and paper gal too and sometimes have a hard time remember to look at my computer/phone. It’s free and probably worth a try-especially if you want to keep other family memebers up to date on the schedule. It offers other things too like To Do lists and an online journal.

Oh, cool!  I forwarded the website to my dh.  He is the techie of the family.  This looks awesome for us!

I signed up for Cozi through FlyLady also, but have not had any issues. I think it functions pretty much the same. I have to confess to being a FlyLady flunky, so haven’t taken advantage of her to-do lists. BUT the regular Cozi features: the calendar, shopping lists, and To-Do lists are working great for us. After I told my husband about it he downloaded the app to his iPhone and uses it. Wow. All these years I’ve never gotten him to pay attention to the calendar on the wall. Now he enters appointments so I know what’s going on with him outside of work and I can set up reminders to go to his phone for family things or if he needs to get home to take the kiddo for me . . . I can also type in a shopping list and he’ll stop by the store on the way home. Wow! I also have a To-Do list set up for ds, and he can check off school work from my phone as we work through the list. Anyway, I highly recommend it. And since its a free account, won’t hurt to try it out.

I tried it, but prefer an off-line calendar. I now use Busycal (think iCal, but a bit of an upgrade) along with Wunderlist. Wunderlist is free and I like it best of all of the to-do lists I tried (Things, Omnifocus, The Hit List, and many others).

I have been using Cozi on my iPod.  I love the program, but I have one major problem with it.  When I add appointments and don’t have an internet connection, for example while checking out at the doctor’s office, it shows the appointment is added to the iPod, but when I have an internet connection available it dumps everything that was added offline and replaces it with the online version, which is older.  I have contacted Cozi and tried all their suggestions and it still dumps my more recent appointments.  Has anyone else had this problem and figured out a fix for it?

Since I’ve been using it either on my phone or pc, I haven’t had that issue. I’ll have to remember that if we get an ipad or tablet – good to know. Sorry I’m no help, though. 😉
