Okay, after all these years I’m finally giving it a try.  I’ve been able to figure most of it out (great videos by the way) but now I’m stuck.  I’m trying to enter things like “personal scripture reading” or “Hebrew”.  They are things we do every day, but don’t follow a book or plan.  They read for 10 minutes or we study the language together for a while.  How do I mark that they “completed” it instead of only “worked on” it?  My first guess was that I’d need to have a division for each day…which would be a ton of divisions.  Is there a way to make that work or do I just click they “worked on” it for 180+ days?  I have quite a few things that end up being similar to this so I’d like to figure out the easiest way before creating a ton of resources then having to change them.

I make divisions titled “Month” with the actual divisions of Jan., Feb., Mar., etc. We click worked on ea. day and finished on the last day of the month. This makes it less unwieldy than clicking worked on indefinitely. You could make 180 individual divisions, too.

Yes, for things like Violin practice (in theory every day, 365 days a year…. and yes, we actually did about 2 years EVERY day…) – I had a Month Division….   I could have made 364 divisions (you don’t have to put a description in each one.)

There are a few review items that I have in, that I have 31 divisions, and I reschedule it every month.  That way I can mark Completed… but I can also put in the note area what they did esactly.

I just thought I’d remind you that if you make many divisions, you have the opportunity to make a note for each one, mark finish, and keep a tally of the number of times this one subject was completed throughout the year without having to check the records.

I don’t put any divisions for those things like leisure reading…with a child completing a thirty chapter book in one day.Surprised

I just changed our piano practice and chores to 31 divisions titled “Day of the Month”. This is a great idea. I’ll just reschedule each month. I like this so much better than day # xyz! It frazzles me when different things are marked differently on the same day. I’m weird, I know.

Thanks Suzukimom for this great idea!

Just wondering if you are making a note on what the chore is in the note box??  I have one son that has several chores but they don’t all have to be done on the same day and I can’t pick the day as some vary depending on the weather, etc.  I could do as you’ve done (Christie) then make a note as to what the chore/s was/were and click finished, right??  I could use that same “added resource” for all the boys’ chores instead of cluttering up our pages with their multiple chore list…does that sound right??  I love the Organizer but still want it to work with (and simplify) our lifestyle 🙂

Oh, and are you having it come up daily??  Are you clicking on each day of the week (M-F or  Sun-Sat.)??

Sorry about all the questions, but I’m working on some of this myself 🙂
