Organizer – Slow?

    I don’t know if it’s just my computer, my internet or what.  But is anyone else feel like the organizer is slower than usual?  Here’s what I mean.  I use to be able to say double click on a item (like once for worked on and twice for finished) and it would move along.  Now I have to hit it once and wait, hit it a second time to get it fully blue and wait – then hit the finished resource button.

    Just wondering if I am the only one? Probably part of living in the country with a dish, but thought I’d ask.  Misty

    This is because of a fix we did earlier this month to solve a problem some people were having with finished assignments reappearing on the Daily Plan. The reason for the delay is because the Organizer now makes sure it saves your progress before allowing you to change the assignment’s status again. When we tested it on our fast connection, the delay wasn’t noticeable, but a slower internet connection could cause a short delay while the Organizer saves the progress.

    I’d be curious to hear if it’s slowing things down for anyone else. We might need to revisit the fix and see if we can come up with a way to speed it up while still preventing the problem from before if it’s causing too much delay for people.

    Also, Misty, are you marking assignments off with the “drawer” of additional dates? Where you’re marking things off may affect how we look at trying to improve this.

    I experience the same clicking delay with clicking for Worked On, then Finished in the circle. I thought maybe it was because I now have to use the CMO on my phone. No internet at our house.

    Jordan – It seems to do it either way.  Thanks for letting me know about the fix.

    Thanks for all the great feedback! This helps a lot as we try to think about how we can optimize things. I’ve sent these details over to the programmers to see if they can do anything about the delay.

    Tech Team – I just wanted to state we started school and although it wasn’t so bad in the summer, being we weren’t doing much or ‘finishing’ things daily now it’s very, very frustrating.

    For me to click once for working on it takes 3 seconds (saying: 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand).  To do finished – it takes the 3 seconds for the working on “plus” an additional 6 seconds counting the same and not speed counting (LOL).  That’s 9 total seconds per subject times each subject that is finished.  Per child and I have 8 of us (7 kids and then 1 labeled family).

    I’m sorry to say this is a HUGE time issue for me.  I love and do love the organizer.  I tell others CMers and non-CMers alike about it all the time.  But with internet that is based on limited times (we don’t have unlimited available here) I don’t know what to do.  I know it seems very silly but with a busy house these little things are important.

    I just wanted to let you know that #1 it is still slow and #2 It is a bigger issue than it was in the summer. We have many subjects and many people to get through.

    Thanks for always listening.  I’m not trying to be mean; I guess I just am disappointed in something that I prize so dearly for school.  Misty

    So sorry that we haven’t fixed this problem yet, Misty. Thanks for letting us know that it’s still an issue. We have a fix in the works and we’re hoping to update the Organizer in the next few days.
