Yesterday’s adventure – a snake that I had to relocate. I have video and it’s definitely good for a laugh!
Today’s unwelcome adventure – a workman used my kitchen bathroom and unbeknownst to me threw away copious amounts of poop laden toilet paper in the TRASH. Later when inside alone, My dog (who is usually perfect in every way) pulled it ALL out and strew it all across my kitchen floor and her bed. We discovered it minutes before Hubby got back in town. We had worked hard to make the house neat earlier, but THIS was his welcome home. He sent me to wash rugs, dd12 to bathe dog and then take the kids outside and then to dinner while he mopped the house with bleach.
Normal day tomorrow, please! No snakes or poop issues. Oh and a good nights sleep of more than 4 hours and that uninterrupted by kids with bad dreams would be nice, too. Just saying.
It’s all an adventure!
missceegeeParticipantLeft out snake info –
Boys almost stepped on it by front porch. Came for me. I texted and called a friend’s son with a photo. Probably a ribbon or a garter he said. So… I went to pick it up. After this heroic feat that was caught on very funny video (I’m not afraid of snakes but don’t generally pick them up) I made the mistake of opening the pillowcase to give us a look. Snake tried hard to get out. I squealed, shook him down, closed the bag, ran in socks across the wet grass looking funny with bag at arms length to the creek where I had been instructed to release the snake. (Mercifully, no video of this part.) more video of me releasing snake safely (him and me) into the creek. Garter snake or not, I considered it my brave deed for the day.
SueParticipantAnd the video is where??? Do share!
BTW, I’m still shuddering in disgust at the thought of someone working in your home who would DARE to….ooh, I just can’t think grownups & disfunctional toileting practices!
missceegeeParticipantThe video is hiding on my phone!
The TP in the trash thing is common in many parts of the world because the toilets can’t handle paper. I’ve been in these countries and when in Rome, well… However, when in the USA or any other place where the facilities can manage, I prefer the American way! It was a short one day job of building a retaining wall this no portable toilet. The boss (a friend of ours) wasn’t here, so when the guy asked, I had pity. I just didn’t imagine this!
simple homeMemberThat’s a yuck 48 hours!! Hope the rest of your week gets better. 🙂
chocodogParticipantHe must have some bad plumbing at home or a outhouse. Something?? 🙂 Double the Yuck!
momto2blessingsParticipantOh my, that is so yucky!!!! The week can only get better:)
crazy4boysParticipantIt sounds like a scene from a movie! I hope the rest of your week is better. You have a nice hubby.
When I lived in Brazil the custom/necessity was to put toilet tissue in the garbage can, but we emptied it FREQUENTLY. A lot of Russia (and some of Brazil) had just a hole in the floor. When I came back 18 months later I almost kissed the toilet, but thought that a bit excessive. But I DID thank the Lord for flushing toilets for months afterwards.
blue jParticipantwell, i’d say you’ve had your quota of character building experiences for the week, bless your heart.
Questa7MemberAhhh! I wanted to cry and hide under a bed just reading it! Hope your week gets better…
ServingwithJoyParticipantA week like that really puts it all back into perspective, doesn’t it?? Shame on that man! Praying your week improves… And that you get some blessed sleep ;0).
NJcountrygalParticipantFirst let us see the video then send it to AFV.
We had a poopy week a few weeks ago, but found it was our septic. Bought our house 5 months ago, but at some point in the past someone had replaced a piece of piping. It went 3in to 4in back to 3in. Needless to say everything was getting caught in 4 in section. Rrrrrrrr!!!! We decided to save $450. And clear it ourselves. Now we know why plumbers get paid so much!!!!!!
JenniParticipantOh no! Christie, that is very funny (and very gross) and I’m glad you’ve gotten the needed perspective so that you can find the humor. For the record, Dh and I are assigned certain tasks… I get anything that comes from that end and he handles the vomit since I’m a “sympathy puker”.
Hope and pray the rest of your week is easy and uneventful.
(We’re doing Beth Moore’s Breaking Free study right now and she just told a very very funny story about a snake. It also involved a .410. Seems to be something in the air about serpents lately….)
Christine KaiserParticipant@ missceegee where do you live again??*lol*

Believe it or not this is my 2nd snake wrangle. The first story from years ago was just as funny, minus the video. I would share the video, but I’m weird about not wanting our pictures out in cyberspace.
