Wow, this has been such a helpful post  Thank you for posting.

Likewise this is my first year completely CM, so I’m excited!

I’m thinking of using just regular printer paper and binding it together (with my proclick binder). But now I’m wondering whether printer paper would work for watercolor – do I need a sketchbook with better quality paper (my kids are only 6 and 4).  I’m not even sure if they’re old enough to use watercolor pencils?

Also, do you seasoned nature-study moms go on the nature walk, then come home and draw / use watercolor pencils, or do you take these out with you on the walks, or a combination?
