More books like Little Duke

    My son and I just finished Little Duke and loved it.  We have read/listened to Charlies Choice and Teddy’s Button from Lamplighters, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend similar books that teach godly character?  Hopefully suggestions will include literature for both boys and girls ; )

    Have you looked into Yesterday’s Classics?  We purchased all their e-books for $50 several years ago.  I think they are all public domain books, but they’ve been edited very nicely so there aren’t the typos typical of public domain books.

    The Little Britches series by Ralph Moody is at the top of my list.

    Thank you all for your input.

    As for the version we used, it was yesterdays classics on the kindle.  There weren’t many illustrations, but the ones they did include were very nice.

    I plan on using Little Britches as a whole family read aloud since I have heard so many good things about them.  Living books library also has some wonderful book ideas I plan to use as well.

    Oh and yesterdays classics has also been a marvelous investment 😉  I’ll have to look more closely at the ones I have on the kindle.

    I just discovered this a couple days ago, but ELTL has a free preK/K program called Pathways…I’d consider using it with older elementary ages as well!  Most of the books are on Yesterday’s Classics and the rest are probably at your local library (or already on your bookcase).  😉
