I recently bought a new bible for myself. I chose the NASB translation (because it is a literal one) without study notes but with wide margins to put my own notes. I also chose the goatskin cover so that it would stay open where I wanted it to be and hopefully it will hold up a lot longer than my first bible did. I love it so far!

Right now I’m reading the NLT Chronological Bible, but I’ve already got The Books of the Bible lined up for next year!  I loved the way the sample books read.  It was SO cool to read it as an actual letter…not individual verses.  I know, it’s silly, same words, but it seems so less distracting without all the notations and numbers!  Thanks to whoever it was that mentioned it!

I also use the ESV Study Bible.  I absolutely LOVE it!  Good luck in your search.  😎
