In Module 1 under geography it lists several different resources on the SCM curriculum guide.  However, in reading through the lesson plans for Genesis through Deut. I don’t see Material World scheduled.  Does Gen.-Deut. not inculde geography or am I just confused?

Gen – Deut starts the geography in Term 2, using Uncommon Traveler and Uncle Josh’s Outline Map Book (for map drill). If you want to include Letters from Egypt (which we discovered after we had written Gen-Deut), you can add that easily by reading about 5 pages one day per week all year.

Material World is listed in every module, because it is a resource I love to keep on my coffee table all the time for the kids to look through on their own. It’s fascinating.

Sorry for the confusion. Does that information help?

Thank you this is exactly the info. I was looking for.  BTW-  I love the Material World book.  It’s one of my favorites.

Oh, good! You might also want to check out Hungry Planet. It’s by the same photographer and built on the same concept, but shows one week’s worth of groceries for each family and includes recipes and such. Also fascinating!

By the way, I’ve rearranged a bit on the curriculum guide and added a little more explanation to those geography suggestions. Hopefully, that will clarify for everyone. Thanks for mentioning it!

Thank you for pointing out Hungry Planet!  I added it to my wish list.
