We only completed the 1st term of Middle Ages last year, so we will be starting back in this new school year, picking up at the beginning of the 2nd term. However, my oldest son will be in 7th grade this year. I am looking at some of assignments and seeing that some of the recommended books begin mid book, rather than at the beginning because of the term divisions. Any ideas or tips on how to get my son settled into 7th grade level reading in spite of this? I’m thinking to just have him plug in where it says he should read and just not really worry about the beginning of the Life in the Word and Discovering Doctrine. Would this work ok?

I also do not have these books yet, so are there other suggestions you may have for this area of study? It’s not something I have really considered for him up to now. We just have our family times together in the Scriptures and move on to academics. I hope to go through Our 24 Family Ways by the Clarksons this year. Is there a real need for the other resources if I’m using a different approach to Bible studies than is recommended in the SCM guide for MA?

I will also need ideas for replacing In Freedom’s Cause because my son read that as extra last year since he had already read both Adam’s Road and Door in the Wall.

    Thanks, ladies!
