We have been using the SOTW this year, Ancient History which includes Rome.  Whilst Dd 9 loves it Ds 6 (who has Aspergers) does not.  I have tried adding in other books, but to no avail, he has no interest.

Next year (January as we are in Australia) we are due to start Middle Ages . I feel that maybe he would do better learning more about specific people and justhad a look at Famous Men of the Middle Ages and it might be more to his liking.  Dd loves History, so she would not be bothered!

Does startin the cycle with the Middle Ages Module work OK and if we do well with it will there be an a guide to use for Early Modern?

I have only been homeschooling for just over a year and started CM a few months ago, so still finding my feet. Ds does well with short lessons, but his attention for History is not good.

Yes, if you’ve already studied Ancient Rome, by all means start with the Middle Ages module.

The Early Modern guide is scheduled to be released in spring 2011, if all goes as planned.

    Thankyou Sonya,

The more I look at the free sample the more I like it, so I think tha is the way we shall go.

I am also planning to start Middle Ages with my scholars in January.  I found this website which may be useful for adding crafts to your studies.

Thanks, CoastalCarol!  We are planning to start Middle Ages in/around January, also.  This squidoo site looks like there is enough “stuff” on there to keep us busy for a LONG time.  Thanks for sharing.
