Has anyone ever used Mathematics Their Way?  I friend of mind was “showing” me this the other day and it’s just what I’ve looked for for years for the K-2 age group.  However, it doesn’t have lesson plans and I find that intimidating.  If you’ve used it, have you ever seen anything like it it a laid out format?  Any suggestions?

I have the book. I used it initally (fall 2008) with my first and then stopped because of the lack of lesson plans and making my own worksheets, as well as gathering materials. We did the patterns section. Both my then K-er and 4 year old LOVED it and learned what we worked on. They noticed patterns all over and still get excited when they see new ones. I did not have a printer at the time and made homemade worksheets and materials. A couple of months after I scrapped it I noticed that there is lesson plans in the back that look easy to tweak and change. We recieved a printer this last winter. Over Christmas I was again researching math curriculums and went back to this one. It is excellent. I found that they have a website with the worksheets free.

http://www.center.edu/BLACKLINES/blacklines.shtml  I wanted to do some of this again over the summer. We are almost done with our current math and then maybe I will jump back in. We have moved 4 times in the last 6 months and will be moving again in a month so I may be hindered once again. Currently I am using MEP which has been a wonderful considering our circumstances of constant change. However, ideally I would be using Math Their Way. Look in the back of the book for lesson plans. I have a very old edition and will see if it is in one of the totes that we currently have with us. Ask any more questions you have and I will try to answer.

Thank you.  I will dig in and see what I can figure out.
