Hey all,  I emailed Angela O’Dell about her math curriculum and she is writing level 2 as we speak! Will be out this summer! I missed out on trying her first book this year as I missed it’s existance lol. Looking forward to seeing this new one soon. Just thought I’d share the info. Feel free to add your reviews of her first book on this thread 🙂

WOW this is exciting news!  I just bought volume 1 for my 5 year old… and was fliping through it thinking my 6 year old would do well with this type of math (just a higher level)

I’m excited to start the first book!!!

looking at the book right now (i just got it) looks like there is VERY minimal prep… and it’s all laid out for you… just cutting some stuff up and laminating all included at the end of the book.  Here is the list of the materials needed:

contact paper and construction paper, index cards, brass fasteners, crayons, markers and colored pencils, glue or paste, hole punch and hole reinforcers, rings to keep flashcards together, plastic shoe-box with lid in which to store manipulatives, stickers to use for flashcards, pictures from old magazines, poster board, at least 100 counting items (she recomends kidney beans), 3 containers (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small), snack size baggies and one durable gallon freezer bag.

it looks SO good… i need to start preping so my 5 year old and I can start!

Nice! That’s not bad at all for gathering things you need. I’d be tempted to find a jar of buttons or collect small smooth stones for counting objects. Thank you for sharing the list & info. Enjoy your math time.

Yes, It does look like an intro math really. You can look at it through Queen Home Schools site.

I really wanted to try this with my 5yo this year, but I am not sure if it is in the budget.  It was recommended a while back and I have been drooling over it since it came out!

Like Tukata, I have never heard of this.  Could someone post a link &/or tell a little bit about it?  Thanks!

http://www.queenhomeschool.com/bookpage/bookframe.html  because of how the Queen website is set up a window with in a window, it doesn’t work to post a direct link. At least that is what I have found.

Click on MATH LESSONS and it should bring you to Math Lessons For A Living Education

You can click on the scope & sequence or the sample preview from there.

Where do you find your updates for when book 2 will be out?  I would consider it for 1st grade.

The preview sample was darling! Love the story! I might add this to my kindergartener’s Professor B lessons. Thanks!

Pollysoup, I just googled her name and emailed her from her blog. She said she was currently writing it and it would be out for use by September. I just keep checking Queen’s site to check if it’s there.

I emailed Sandi at Queen’s site and she said the Math Lessons 2 wouldn’t be available til December.

So the times when this book should be out are conflicting. I am wondering which it really is.

If you are on Facebook, there is a Queen Homeschool Supplies, Inc. group. It would likely be announced there when it will be available. Angela recently posted the table of content pages, but I didn’t see any mention of when it would be out yet. From what I can tell she just finished volume 3 of her history series and sent it to the printers, and volume 2 of the math series is in the works now.
