We will be using Math u see for kindergarten. We will basically be doing all the extra subjects with math and reading/phonics added in. My question is if I should purchase MUS primer or alpha for year 0. From what I have read alpha covers everything that is in primer, but is the primer at an easier level? My daughter will be 5.5 when we start year 0.

    Thanks

    I would do Alpha.

Last year my ODS did Primer (he turned 5 in November) and he did it really easily. He loved it though, having his work sheet. He will be doing Alpha this year and will be turning 6. It really does review what Primer introduces. My DD started with Alpha, no Primer, and did great.

Primer is not necessary, but is nice if you have a younger one that likes to have their “own” work.

If they can already count objects and know their numerals – a lot of it is repetitive.  I use the Primer with my 3 and 4 year olds – not requiring them to write the numbers but rather just point to the answer.
