I know it’s not exactly CMish, but I like the idea of map workbooks.  They give more than I could and smaller, easier to do chuncks.  But I don’t know if one.  If you do this could you please let me know what you have used and liked.  Thanks.

Misty, I was poking around on Memoria Press’ website and discovered wonderful Geography books for map drill. I’ve been wanting to add a bit to our geography studies (fun facts, capitals, etc.) and these books have it laid out so nicely! Actually, I find I like the layout of most of their things I’ve seen. Perhaps, I should bite the bullet and try some.

The books are sort of mis-filed, I think under American-Modern. There are 3 sets: States and Capitals; Geography I; Geography II. I think I’ll be using these in the coming year!

Evan-Moor (sp?) publishing has fun map workbooks.  And, Geography Songs (I think that’s what it’s called) has a geography workbook type program.

We’ve used both mentioned.  When my oldest was young we used the Continents workbook from Evan-Moor and he did a co-op geography class and they used Geography Songs…he produced a nice binder w/ flags, maps, etc.

Don’t know if that helps, but you could start  there.

Also, Geo Matters may have map workbooks.

We used the maps in our CC Foundations Guide. I see map studies as CMish. If it’s a legible map, it should do the trick. We study them filled in and then test to see how much we know by looking at blank maps. Very similar to SCM Guide suggestions.
