I just love that my kids can play and do things besides sit in a classroom and look at the walls all day.
Their little minds made up a lego game. They made up their own game board, thier own people for their game, even their own game dice. They have traps, people trying to get them at every turn. I find it interesting that they came up with this all on their own. If they would have been in school they wouldn’t have had the time to do all of this creative thinking. They stayed up later last night to work out all the little details. 🙂 I think they are on their way to be creative designers for Milton Bradley or Lego. LOL 😉
I just had to share because I am a happy homeschooler!
If you want to share your childs creative homeschooling things I would love to hear what they have come up with.
sara p.ParticipantThat’s awesome! Last night my daughter had in her mind an angel craft she wanted to make. She wrote up her own directions, gathered the materials and began her creation. It was so exciting for her to do this all on her own and make her own directions.
Give my boys empty paper towel rolls and masking tape and you never know what kind of creations they come up with!
I think it is so wonderful that homeschooled kids have the freedom of not having time restraints and the pressure of what other kids are creating. They are free to explore, play and create to thier hearts content.
Have a wonderful day and blessed week!
2flowerboysParticipantLately, when my boys have a break during school. They want to draw. My ds9 is pretty good at it. So I am encouraging him to keep on! Over the wkd they drew for 7 hrs off and on with just mini breaks! Unbelievable! It was storming here so I let them do it! Like you mentioned chocodog, maybe ds will become the next Thomas Kinkade!
Before that breaktime consisted of playing chess! My ds7 actually beat dad the other night! Dad has been playing chess for a while! So glad they are able to challange themselves..and I often remind them of that when they complain about school! LOL! If you were in PS, you couldn’t have breaks like that!
sherazParticipantAll during last week, every time we were “done” for the day (and during our breaks) my dc studied animals, wrote notebooking pages about them and created a safari all thorough the house with their animals. As we toured with this safari, they told us all they remembered or knew about the animals. Each room had a different habitat. Then they served us refreshments they had made themselves.
I enjoyed it so much that I took pictures and am going to blog about masterly inactivity! =) I kept telling my dh that had we been in PS, they would have come home and been too tired and rushed to even think of a safari, much less planned and worked at it for over a week.
I am so thankful that we were lead to this path; and for the great journey and adventure that we call a “homeschooling life”!
teachermomParticipantEach of these stories made me smile.
Homeschooling is wonderful!!

chocodogParticipantWow the creativity! Those were all great ideas! 🙂 I can’t wait to hear more.
Love the safari by the way. My son would love to do that.
@ 2 flowerboys Wow that’s great about beating DH at chess. It brought back memories of my dad playing with me. He said I could have his chess set if I beat him. Well, I studied the game hard by watching a few boys play at school. They excluded me because I didn’t know how to play and I was a girl. So, about every night I would play with my dad. I got so good I almost won the chess tournament. Beating all the boys who excluded me. 🙂 I ended up in a stale mate against the last boy. I am not sure the techicalities of the whole thing but I know it was an intense game. I later went on to beat my father. Then it wasn’t as challenging for him and we didn’t play after that. So tell your DH to keep playing it means alot for a kid to beat his dad and still sit and play the game. For the Love of the Game! 🙂
Sara– Would have loved to see the end results of the angel project. It sounds cool !
They are so creative…. Hope more people post!
RobinPParticipantMy closest friend lost her 20yo son last week in a car accident. He was homeschooled his whole life. She got up in his service and told what a gift homeschooling had been. She had her son for 20 years and had spent more time with him than most moms spend in a lifetime. Hug your children today.
