Hello,
I have four young children ages 8, 5, 3, and 1 and I am expecting a baby in June. I am really wanting to work more on habits and feel stressed when I have too much planned and not enough flexibility. We homeschool year round and like to take days off when we want. Here is my loop schedule, do you think it will be enough time on the basics?
Individual loop:
1. Reading instruction with my 8 and 5 year old
2. Math and math wraps with 8 and 5 year old
3. Copywork (handwriting letters for 5 year old)
4. Spelling wisdom and Using language well
Family loop:
1. History
2. geography
3. art
4. science
5. Spanish
6. History
7. geography
8. poetry
9. science
10. music study
Daily
Bible time and memory verses
Literaure
Habits and Hymns on Fridays
Missions on Saturdays
2Corin57ParticipantIt looks good to me. Can you explain more how you’ll do it? Will it be one subject from personal loop, one from family loop then dailies?
2Corin57ParticipantOh. I would add copywork to daily however. It is really only effective (or at least more effective) when done daily. It should only take 5 minutes.
GraceParticipantI would do basics loop first, then hopefully get to the family loop. I am still debating doing all of basics daily, then just doing the family loop as there is time, but I know that will mean some days we won’t get to anything on the loop, or maybe just one thing. I was also thinking about doing copywork daily. I’m wondering if we just prioritize basics, do them daily, and then go through the family loop as we can if that is enough? My kids are young, so maybe I shouldn’t worry how much of the family subjects we get to until next year? Any advice? Thanks so much ladies.
mrsmccardellParticipantCharlotte recommended that you switch around subjects so you’re not overtaxing the brain and losing focus. So maybe start with a family loop to individual loop to daily loop. Does that mean sense?
GraceParticipantYes it does. Thanks for your reply.
