Looking for a drawing/art program for 12 year old

    Hi,

    i am looking for some type of drawing instruction for my 12 year old BOY.  I need something pretty generic-not cutesy if you know what I mean.  I would like drawing/sketching for sure, but it could also include other art activities.

    Any ideas/???

    Art with a Purpose goes up through 9th grade. It is a favorite at our house.

    I recommend Artistic Pursuits.  It gives a small bit of information about a particular artist and his/her style then the student is instructed how to crreate a picture using the featured artist’s style.  There are books from K-12.

    I second Artistic Pusuits.  I use their books for both my boys who are 10 years apart.  Because it uses pictures of real art within the lesson, you can also use it for art studies.  Less is more, right?

    I have been looking into SeeTheLightShine.  It begins with the very basics.  The website also offers the first 3 lessons for free, so you can try before you buy.
