I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these. My son is in 4th grade. We used The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts for 2nd and 3rd but are not thrilled with it this year. I find myself really liking the content of some of these older texts but at the same time, it is not always easy to determine where to start with them (as far as placement, for a 9 YO 4th grader). Anyway, before we make the switch I’d like to hear BTDTs and suggestions. Thank you!

I LOVE Longs language! The blog Mom delights has a whole bunch of articles on them if you want some more info.

I think the first book is excellent for 3-4 grades and the second book is great for 5th-6th. It has really helped my sons writing skills. It also is very gentle in the grammar.

Harveys from what I understand is more for upper middle-school/beginning high-school.
