I remember a post where favorite authors of science books were listed. I thought I saved in my favorites, but I didn’t. Can anyone help?
RobinPParticipantHi Christie,
I don’t know where the other post is, but here is a list of our favorite science authors.
Robert McClung… my favorite, esp. for the youngers. We have to read Honker every year when the Canadian geese come back to raise their family on our pond.
Gladys Conklin (I had to read I Caught a Lizard a million times, I think.) 🙂Jean Craighead George
Mary & Conrad Buff (Dash & Dart and Hurry, Skurry & Flurry we enjoyed)
Alice Crew Gall & Fleming Crew (there are wonderful chapter books written by a brother/sister team)
Dorothy Childs Hogner
Alice Goudey (her Here Come The… series is terrific. There are Here Come the Dolphins, Bees, Bears, Cottontails, Deer, etc.)
Anna Pistorius (she wrote a fun Q&A series)
Millicent Selsam (wrote a ton…she’s not my absolute favorite but she has books on topics you might not find otherwise.)
Valerie has some of these authors on her website with lists of their books.
http://www.valerieslivingbooks.info/Hope this helps. I just realized I should have posted this under your post on the forum. I’ll copy and paste it there in case anyone else needs some new gems.
