Can anyone recommend a living book with a character that exemplifies the habit of attention? And on that note..does anyone know of a resource where a generous Charlotte Mason fan has compiled a list of these livng books, possibly organized by habit? Or am I wishing on a star? LOL! 🙂

We are reading Little House on the Prairie and the girls in that book really listen and obey their parents attentively. It is clear throughout the book that this is important for their safety and to show respect to elders. It’s just one book but HTH!

Try this! http://simplycharlottemason.com/store/laying-down-the-rails-for-children-a-habit-training-companion/ I have heard great things about it and it sounds like what you are looking for!

MountainMamma, thank you for the suggestion. That does help. Maybe that can be our first chapter book. 🙂

CULlamaGirl, thank you for the link. That is the book that we are currently doing! We selected attention as the first habit to work on, but, thank you anyway for link. I recommend the Rails for Children Resource for anyone with preschoolers. I am currently using it with my 5yr old. I love it! It is just a rich and wonderful way to create smooth and easy days ahead.
