My 11 yr old remembers, in great detail, the information she learned about Louie Armstrong when reading a Magic treehouse( A good night for Ghosts) book a few years back. She also read a scholastic biography about Helen Keller and remembers pretty much the whole book. I need suggestions on more books like these! She doesn’t mind reading below level, but not too ‘babyish” 😉
RuralmamaParticipantThe books by jean fritz are good.
Melanie32ParticipantI second Jean Fritz biographies.
Landmark biographies and narrative histories are excellent.
sherazParticipantThere are several biography series out there and I include links just so that you can get the actual titles. You can buy them used from your favorite place.
