The mailman delivered two boxes of books from amazon.com today. I let my son open the boxes because he likes to use boxes to make castles, cars, forts, etc. When I checked on him, I found him not making toys with the boxes but reading one of the books which I intend to use in the fall with him.

“No! No!” I said, rushing into the livingroom with my arms waving, “No reading books!”

Of course, we both started laughing at the silliness of my outburst. I conceeded and let him read one of the books, but the rest I put away.

I figured only fellow CM homeschoolers would see the humor in the struggle to keep the kids from devouring books in one gulp. Isn’t it great?!

    Esby,

What a fun problem to have.  I know what you mean.  When I come home from anywhere with books(homeschool store, library, convention), I have to hide what I find if I don’t want them to read it yet.  They(all six) are usually waiting to pounce when I walk in the door.  Surprised But I’ll take it.  Laughing
