Lit books on Kindle/Audible for 5yr boy?

Ds5 will be getting a Kids edition Kindle Fire for Christmas.  I’m not super excited about the movies or games, but I would like to find some good quality books to put on there for him.

It sounds like Kindle/Audible may go together so that the books could be read to him by the device?  So far when looking I haven’t come across many non twaddle books though.  I was hoping for some Virginia Burton or McCloskey or something.  I would also be interested in short chapter books along the level of Burgess “The Adventures of…”

Also any super easy readers that he could get through himself, though those wouldn’t need the audible component.
