Has anyone used Life of Fred Geometry?

We are currently using Teaching Textbooks and we are having difficulty with the proofs.

I am thinking maybe we need to spend more time  learning the theorems and definitions.

The text is not suggesting that we do this but I am wondering if that might help with

underatanding the logic behind the formal proofs.

Just wondering whether LOF helps with the logic involved in doing the proofs. Are his

    explanations more clear?

My friend’s son is doing LOF Geometry. His favorite subject was Algebra, so a fairly mathy kid. I heard at one point that he, too, was having trouble with proofs. Not that this is helpful to you really, but just letting you know you may or may not have better luck with LOF.

The author of Life of Fred suggests that you complete both years of algebra before moving on to geometry. Has your student completed both levels of algebra? One thought if your student has not completed algebra 2 would be to switch to that and come back to geometry. There could be a mental maturation that needs to occur.
