Hello, I am new to this community, and am planning to homeschool my 5 year old son starting this next school year. I have been looking in to various co-op groups in my area and am finding that many of the parents have strong online presences, in which they regularly share views that are drastically different than mine. Im wondering if I would be negatively received in these groups due to my liberal views. Are there other liberal families out there who are homeschooling? I hope this post doesn’t come off rude! Just trying to find my place in this homeschooling life!

Welcome! I don’t know what your religious beliefs are, but there are a growing community of secular homeschoolers. If not, hang in there. It’s worth it, and you are not alone. I’m sure that there are others out there.

Certainly.  I live in an area where there is a very liberal homeschooling group, as well as a conservative Christian one.  If you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for, perhaps you can even reach out to your larger community and try and form your own group.
