I would love to use Delightful Copywork with my children, but our family and church uses the King James Version of the bible. I’ve thought about just replacing the KJV passage, but it becomes tedious with so many children (I have 6 boys-ages 1-11). When we come across a NIV passage, instead of focusing on the message, the children (one in particular and then they all join in) focus on pointing out all the differences between the two. Would you consider making a KJV of DR and DC? Similar to how you have D’nelian and Zaner-Bloser or Printed and E-Book versions?

Delightful Handwriting uses the same Proverbs passage as Delightful Reading. That passage and the version were chosen to be a simple, beginning reading lesson. Changing it to a version with more complex wording would no longer serve that purpose as well.

Your children pointing out the differences is actually a good thing! It shows that they are paying attention to the details. You might take a little time to look at the differences together and discuss what the passage means. That may be enough to help your children move on to focus on the copywork.
