I’m planning to use “Getting Started With Latin” with my dd13 and dd10 in the fall.  This will be their first exposure to Latin (or any foreign language).  Is this going to be too “young” for them?  Also, what do you use after finishing this?  Is the Cambridge course a follow-up to GSWL, or just an alternative?

Simplicity, my 13yo daughter and I went through GSWL this past year and enjoyed it very much. It starts easy but is not at all childish in its approach. Now that we have finished, we will do Cambridge next. You could jump right into Cambridge if you wanted to. I just wanted to have a gentle introduction to Latin first so we could gain our confidence before tackling Cambridge.

I’ll be starting my 10 yr. old on Latin for Children next year after scouring the internet researching the different ones. However, I considered the one you mentioned. Try it out; one of the great things about that particular one is that if you decide you don’t like it, then it’s extremely inexpensive so you won’t feel connected to it due to the investment!
