How to unlock “Selected lessons” marked as “locked” with lock icon?

    When I am scheduling a resource, sometimes I encounter this problem:

    Under “Use Lessons” I click “Select Lessons” and when I try to select “none” (because I only want to use a few chapters out of many listed) some remain selected and seem to have a lock icon on the right of the blue bar, beside the “change order” arrow connected with that chapter. I do not remember ever doing something that would lock them, and I cannot figure out how to unlock them so that I can then un-select them and have a fresh start.

    I have had this issue both with resources I created myself, and ones others have created. Thank you for your help!

    Good question! Can you give me an example of a resource or two where you’re seeing this happening?

    Yes, with “Fix It! Grammar: Town Mouse and Country Mouse” Lessons 11-13 are locked for one of my children, and Lessons 11-12 are locked for another one of my kids. I can’t figure out what to do with those lessons to be able to get on with the lessons I actually intended to select (for example, if I’m only assigning Lessons 18-30).

    Also, for “Typing 1” (which I have assigned to 3 of my kids) some have Lessons 1-15 and one has Lessons 1-13 locked, when I just wanted to assign Lessons 40-80. This is a resource I added myself in September, and I was not diligent about updating as we went through the first term. I decided to make a fresh start in January, but I wonder if these issues are due to me just checking off some of these assignments last September, perhaps?

    Thanks for those additional details—that helps! Here’s what’s going on:

    As you suspected, the locked assignments are the ones that you already marked off. You can’t remove them from the schedule because they have already been marked Completed.

    What I would recommend would be to schedule those resources again, which shouldn’t have those lessons locked because the CM Organizer will start the schedule fresh on that new “copy” of the resource. You should be able to select whichever lessons you want at that point. Does that make sense?

    OK, I will give that a try. I should have thought of that!  What I’m still confused about though is why it is sort of forcing me to complete those lessons again in the future if they are already marked as complete. I don’t think I marked any of those as just “worked on” (but maybe I did?).

    I’m seeing those lessons on your reports marked Worked On or Finished back in September/October 2024. Because those are in your records for that schedule, they can’t be removed since they are already done.

    Again, removing the resource and rescheduling a fresh version should clear things up!
