Trying to plan for next year and figure out how much time a 7th grader should be spending on school…

My 7th grader spends about 4 hours on schoolwork, not including handicrafts and outdoor time.  I do have more kids, so that slows things down a bit.  We also take a few breaks in that time.

Ditto here. My 8th grader spends about 4 hours. We also take breaks during that time and about an hour is family time.

My current 7th grader works for 4-4.5 hours a day. Not including handicrafts or nature study.

My 7th grader spends 4.5-5 hrs a day not including any outdoor time.  This includes all family work and independent work but does not include outdoor time.  My son has asked for science 5 days a week (utilizing a book that schedules experiments for each lesson) and is easily distractable.

My sixth grader spends maybe three hours.  He has a light course load right now because an online class I had scheduled for him got pushed out until May.
