I am trying to work on the timing for our school year. I am thinking of doing Outdoor Secrets and Companion at lunch/after lunch twice a week, and Truthquest AHFYS1 at lunch/after lunch twice a week. Is 30 minutes a good amount of time to expect? I have a 2nd grader, and pre-k and toddler along for the ride. If we do an hour a week of history and science is that enough at this age? DS reads a lot independently so I am also planning to give him small assigned independent readings for both as well.

Thirty minutes would be generous, I think. We spent about fifteen on each lesson on average. Some “lessons” had us exploring outside which would of course be as long or as short as you’d like to be out for. But in terms of actual reading and discussing, they’re nice short lessons.

    Take care,
