Wanted you mamas to look at my schedule this year and tell me what you think! Is this enough for a second grader?

Math/ Finish up level B in Right Start Math and Start level C. Play math games once or twice a week. Math would be four times per week since we only do school four days a week.

Language Arts/ Writing: Grade two of Handwriting without tears workbook, will also be dabbling a bit in cursive writing with HWT as well. Copy work daily as well. Grammar: Will be using Grammar for the thoughtful child this year. Probally two lessons a week. Reading: Finishing up our Delightful Reading kit this year, finishing up the first grade pathway Readers books and starting the second grade pathway readers. Loving these! We also use bob Books and will be using Hooked on phonic second grade lessons level 1. Debating using spelling this year! May wait another year via Charlotte Masons recommendations!

Science/ using the outdoor secrets lessons and book twice a week along with nature study. When we finish that we are gonna read a lot of living science books and do gentle science experiments. Holding off on Apologia science till next year!

History/ Finish up Gen-Deut module one lessons of Ancient History, etc. Start module one soon after. Going at a slow pace with history. Also will be using Beautiful Feet Books for Early American history….one lesson per week.

    Composer study/ once per week

    Artist Study/ once per week

    poetry reading/daily

Character building books/ once per week

Shakespeare/ Reading through a Midsummers Night Dream

Physical Education/ Twice a week using Family Fitness lessons

    Handicrafts/ one per term

    Alicia Hart

It looks great – IMO, I would definitely wait on spelling.

You’ve got it! Looks pretty solid to me. =)
