I’m no help because I’m using the same program as I was in the above post three years ago. 🙂

Dh and I decided on Book Crawler. It has an iPhone app, and we can sync everything into our iCloud, so that it automatically updates to all our Mac devices, including his work computer. I love that I have my library on my phone! Now I won’t double-buy a book when I’m out because I can look it up! I’ve been getting books into the program all evening, and it’s quite fun.

I had Book Crawler on my ipod untill it died last week.  🙁  Loved the app though! It would be great for a home library.

I think I’m going to try goodreads for now.  It’s free and you can put your books on as many ‘shelves’ as you want which seem to work the same way as tags would.  So Boy of the Pyramids can go on the shelves ‘historical fiction’ and ‘ancient egypt’.  Plus you have a ‘read’, ‘to be read’, and ‘wishlist’ I believe.  So one could add in books they liked from the public library or other books they wanted to get as ‘to be read’ and have ‘read’ be the books they own.  Hopefully it will work at least because I don’t think I’ll be replacing my ipod any time soon. sigh…

Very, very interesting about Goodreads.  I had a mom tell me that this one would be good to use in order to allow members to check on titles that I have in my library before heading over to check them out.

Yes, I believe you could link somone your profile and they could look up what you have. 🙂

I almost forgot that they have ‘similar books’ that pop up when you enter a book so you can go through the similar books or someone elses list and add those to your library as well.  It can be much faster than entering every barcode yourself!
