HIstory/Literature credits when combining history guides

I have yet another high school question. You would think at some point I would feel like I have all this settled, but sadly I do not. So next year I am thinking of doing both the Rome and Middle Ages guides with my 6/9/11th graders.  I believe the guides recommend 1/2 credit for Rome and 1 credit for Middle Ages. Looking through the list I feel I could apply some of those books to an English credit. Give my high schoolers a full World history credit and then 1/2 credit toward English. Does that seem right? I will also be doing family literature, and they will have grammar and narrations, plus family poetry. Does that seem like enough?

    Thanks…again,

    Crystal
