  • This is my first time “blogging,” if you will. I am looking for a solid “History” curriculum for a 6th grader. My daughter isn’t too interested in this subject, but perhaps it’s due to the fact that I haven’t found one of interest. Additionally, if you know of a good Geography curriculum, I am open to suggestions, on that subject, as well. Please advise. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed searching. Thank you so much!

My dd was in 6th last year and what worked well for us was the SCM history booklist and I use Truthquest’s biblical commentary. And TQalso lists historical movies, which is handy. Lots of good options out there…I think the key is to use living books that will engage her as much as possible:)  Blessings, Gina

P.S. Oh, and if that interests you, you could just use SCM’s geography along w/it.

My daughter is in sixth grade too. We are going to be using Biblioplan for the first time. It does have worksheets (if you want to use them). It also has mapwork and activites and crafts. You can pick and choose which parts you want to use.
