    The hand sewing kits from American Girl are perfect.  (Find on Amazon). The mama + baby bird is my favorite.

    My 6 year old daughter loves Perler beads – she makes ornaments and wall hangings. She also loves craft loop looms to make potholders. She eventually made a potholder quilt because we had so many potholders. 🙂

    I suggest the loop potholders too.  Be sure to get a high quality kit with cotton loops.  We have been happy with Harrisville Designs from Rainbow Resource.

    You can also buy squares of felt to cut and sew with craft thread to make her own play food or toys.  Sewing School by Andria Lisle has more ideas.
