It looks like the Guerber/Miller books are used only for years 2 & 3 of the history series — The Story of the Greeks and The Story of the Romans. It also looks like they are available for other periods of history and have good reviews. Anyone know why the others are not suggested? TIA
Sonya ShaferModeratorThe Guerber/Miller books are great! We don’t recommend the Ancient World one because it is a lot of retelling of Bible stories, and we’re directing the students to read those from the Bible itself instead during the Genesis through Deuteronomy study.
Then we don’t use the later ones after Greeks and Romans because of their length. You would need to read more than one per year to stay on our six-year history rotation schedule, and with those books being more than 100 chapters each it would just be too much reading to absorb and digest all of that at once.
So many good books; not enough time!
jenoveveParticipantI am having trouble finding “The Story of the Romans.” Does anyone have an alternate title suggestion? I found it on Amazon, just not the Nothing New Press edition.
artcmomto3ParticipantI purchased our copy directly from the publisher.

Wings2flyParticipantI have seen them at Rainbow Resource, too.
hshautParticipantThank you!
