I have to report letter grades each quarter. For those of you who also have to report letter grades , how do you do it schooling in a CM Style? How do you set up your rubrics and point value system for both written work and Oral / discussion work? And other things like Artist study & Nature notebooks? What kind of criteria do you choose to include, or consider when setting up your grading system? I admit , the last year I have veered away from CM because It was daunting trying to figure it all out . I am ready to tackle it now and would like ideas & suggestions. Help me brainstorm…….
I have a 6th grader and a 4th .
Thanks Ladies!

ErinDParticipantI think in that case I would give an A for a job well done. If it’s to your expectations and the child has a decent attitude, does their best, etc. then I would award an A. Maybe a B if they struggled or didn’t do their best work. I would keep it very general like that and not worry about grading specific assignments. Just an idea.
KarenParticipantI found a free printable rubric online for grading written work. I use that to grade my 8th grader’s written narrations. If you google grading rubrics you’ll surely find something you can use. You might even find something labeled a CM rubric……you just need to satisfy the requirements, not agree on every point with the grading tool used.
