Hello All! I am looking for a couple of good CD’s that the kids and I can listen to at QT or in the car – kids’ songs in French, preferably with the lyrics!!
Any recs appreciated – thanks!
Wings2flyParticipantWe enjoy Putumayo music. One of our favourites is French Playground. It comes with lyrics in French and English side-by-side for each song. They are upbeat songs and may not be what you are looking for at quiet time. But I still recommend…maybe for chore time.
We also have Songs in French for Children but is more for younger children I think, and no lyrics…only $3.99 @ Amazon.
suzukimomParticipantIf you can burn cd’s there are songs here… http://www.mamalisa.com/?p=22&t=ec&c=22
If for an older audience…. Roger Whittiker used to have french records…. I remember (excuse my spelling) Il y’a en elephant sur mon balcolne. (There is an elephant on my balcony)
petitemomParticipantI had not answer this because I have so many French cds (mostly French Canadian) that I didn’t know where to start.
My favorites are “Chapeau Felix” and “chansons droles chansons folles”.
I don’t know if you can find them?
blue jParticipantExcuse my ignorance, please. How much difference is there between French Canadian and Continental European French?
petitemomParticipantA BIG difference!
It is like comparing English from the US and from England.
The pronunciation and expressions are different. The grammar stays the same.
Putumayo recommended above is French from France. I have that Cd but never listen to it, I prefer French Canadian!
