I don’t know how many of you use a Kindle or free Kindle app, but a friend of mine compiled a list linking over 100 free books for children in Kindle format. What I love is Ami took time to label each author’s works by general age/grade recommendation so if you want things for a specific age you’ll get some guidance on that. Here is her post:
sbkrjulieParticipantWow….tell her thank you!!! I have it bookmarked and can’t wait to download to my e-readers. Yes, I have more than one My hubbie gave me a Kindle Fire for Christmas and thus my keyboard Kindle as well as my first generation Nook are not really being used. Good thing, I am switching to CM methods for teaching…my kids can use the extra readers LOL
TristanParticipantHaha, we’re saving for a Kindle the kids can share so they don’t take mine. They’re definitely useful!
MamaSnowParticipantThanks! I saw a few in this list that I didn’t know were available as freebies for Kindle. And so happy to see all the Thornton Burgess books available! My kiddos love those and since we are getting ready to move overseas I am trying to gather as many e-books as I can to cut down on our luggage weight. =)

sbkrjulieParticipantMy Kindle Fire is NOT going to be touched by the children LOL It is like a mini tablet computer so there are some games on it. I know them well enough to know that if they were to “borrow it”, they would NOT be reading on it LOL
Which reminds me, I may need to delete the games off the regular Kindle too….just to prevent the temptation LOL
suzukimomParticipantWow, thanks, I’ll have to go through them.
just so people know, the ones from amazon might not be free if you don’t live in the States (but they might be – you’d have to check each book…)
GuarinoMomMemberWonderful! I am also going to share this info with local friend. Tell your friend she is a Gift!
Christine KaiserParticipantThat’s great, thank you for sharing!
my3boysParticipantYes, thanks for sharing! I have already added some to my kindle and plan to do more tomorrow.
artcmomto3ParticipantOh, wow! This is great! I only knew about a few of these. Tell your friend THANKS from all of us!
RobinPParticipantThank you so much!! I forwarded this to my library patrons (and have downloaded some to my Kindle as well.)
momto2blessingsParticipantThat’s awesome! Kids just bought their own Kindles, but I refuse to buy books now when I already have them for the year…maybe they can find some here:) Gina
LauraNthreeParticipantYay! I’ll bookmark the page. I also got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and have the first Kindle that ever came out as well. (hubby is mad that he paid close to $400 for it new and now it’s only like $99)
