My local library doesn’t have the greatest selection of books. I am using Truthquest History (which I love) but most of the recommended books are not at my library so I have to purchase them. It is getting to be expensive.
Where can I find books without buying them?
Thanks,
Rhonda
MonicaParticipantDoes your library do inter-library loan? I get most of my books that way, although I also borrow from friends or look on Amazon/Better World Books for a cheap used copy.
sarah2106ParticipantI find 95% of my books used through ABE books. They search a lot of used book stores so I can find the best deals. Usually only a few dollars except a select few that are harder to find.
Our inter-library loan does not work that well, often I have to wait weeks for a book and then I get it for only a week. I see books as an investment, and am happy to loan to friends and hope to pass onto my kids at some point, just as my mom passed books onto me 🙂
KarenParticipantI use bookfinder.com. I also go to every book sale within reasonable distance, and keep a list of titles I’m looking for in my purse.
And sometimes, I give up and substitute a book.
