Can you use Early Modern & Epistles with Visits to North America? I know Early Modern & Epistles has not been updated to correspond with VtNA, but I was wondering if it was doable?
Thanks for the help!
sarah2106ParticipantYes! I am doing it this year. You simply replace the geography day in the History Guide with a lesson from Visits to North America.
HollySParticipantYes, you can schedule them together. We are using Visits to Europe with the Middle Ages guide, even though it’s recommended to use with a different guide. Next year my plan is to use North America with Early Modern.
One thing to consider is whether or not you want to add in the geography books scheduled for Early Modern in addition to Visits. I went ahead and added them for the Middle Ages guide and it’s worked out well so far.
JulieParticipantThanks for the help!
@Sarah2106 did you get all the books for VtNA that go along with the grade of your kiddos? I have Matrial World and Hungry Planet so, I’m trying to decide if I should get all the books for my dd grade level as well.JulieParticipant@hollyS I think I will skip the geography books in the history TM and get the geography books for VtNA 🙂
RoseParticipantAny suggestions for a substitute book? My boys have read “Sign of the Beaver ” twice already. They are pretty advanced readers, should I used the book scheduled for the older kids? Or is there another book that would work better in their age range.
