I know there was a post here on this within the last year or so…but I sure can’t find it now!  Something about how to use your ipad to enter things with the bar code.  Can anyone help me find it or briefly explain how to do it?  Thank you!!

As typical, now I found it!  Thought of searching just with “CM organizer” instead of bar code, ipad and everything else I tried!  Sorry again!!  I’ll try it in a little bit…if there’s anything new to know, I’m still ears though… thanks!

Sure, it was a little experimental thing that would use the camera on an iOS device to scan the barcode on a book and get the ISBN number. That was then entered into the CM Organizer through the web browser on your device. You can find the details at http://simplycharlottemason.com/barcode.html

But there is a better way now. I don’t have time right now to give all the details but I’ll point you in the right direction. (I’ll have to do a video one of these days.)

You buy the iCody WiFi Barcode Reader app, which can scan the barcode and enter the ISBN into the CM Organizer using it’s built-in web browser. Or (this is the good part) it can wirelessly send the barcode to your computer and enter it into the CM Organizer there. Actually, it can become a wireless barcode scanner for any software on your computer.

You’ll also need the free Thetis software if you want to send barcodes to your computer.

It takes a bit of setup and you might have to tinker with it a bit and read some of the documentation on the iCody / Thetis website. But once it’s set up it works very well.
