Displaying the weekly Picture Study?

  • So we will be starting picture study in August and I will be using a combination of calendar prints, the SCM portfolios and some misc prints I have run across.

My question is, after narration of the print where do you display it for the week so it is easily visible for further observation? I’d like it to be at eye level for the kids but I don’t want it to get distroyed because it is too accessible (you with toddlers KWIM :o).

I was thinking maybe a glass front picture frame that I could hang low and just switch out each week. Since my prints are not all the same size I guess I would get maybe a 12×12 frame so it could accommodate the calendar prints?

    Any other ideas……?

    :o)

I frame it like you said and set it on an easel atop a small bookcase that is about 3 feet high.  (eyelevel for the couch when sitting) Wink   I don’t have wall space or I’d probably hang it.

Mine sits on a table-top easel on top of a table in our entryway. We pass it several times a day, so it’s a central location. And when we’re gathered by the door, waiting for all to be there so we can leave, it provides another opportunity to look.

We put ours in a frame and set it in the kids’ bathroom right between their sinks (kinda’ silly, I know, but I can guarantee that they will stare at it a minimum of twice a day).  I use a frame that has glass on both the front and back so if I’m feeling particularly lazy and don’t want to take the time to frame it properly I can just lean the print against the backside and it is protected from most of the splatters.

I also try to find a copy on google images and save it as the screen saver on my laptop.

What a great idea to use it as a screensaver, too!

    Thanks!

LibertyH – I think putting it in the bathroom is a brilliant idea!  We don’t have a separate kids bathroom, but I want to “steal” your idea and put it in ours.  They can brush their teeth while doing picture study at the same time!

I actually think the bathroom idea is really creative! Since one of mine loves to spend time sitting on the sink singing to her reflection anyway (ala Anne Shirly) it would give her something profitable to do :o)

I bought an inexpensive frame at Wal-mart last night to put by the front door too.
