I’ve read the manual and forum posts and I still don’t understand how we are suppose to start this. My daughter is 9 and just learning cursive. We are not using SWR. Is that required for this to make sense? What exactly am I suppose to do?

Am I suppose to teach all the lowercase letters during the first lesson?

No. There are explicit instructions for teaching each letter in a certain order beginning with lowercase. I believe you start with clock face letters. Do one letter at a time and move on from there. 1/2 sheet per day is the recommended pace.

Teacher’s Manual page 28 begins the “Sequence for Cursive First with Transitioning Writers”. Page 25 gives a “Sample Lesson Plan for First Six Days” for beginning writers but it might give you an idea of where to start with your daughter.
