Creating a Masterpiece planning

My 7 year old son is so very interested in drawing, painting, etc. I see that SCM recommends Creating a Masterpiece. For the Enrichment Ideas Year 1, it suggests to do 2 Handicrafts and 1 Creating a Masterpiece: Pastels. The following years for Enrichment Ideas includes a couple different techniques from Creating a Masterpiece. I see that a monthly subscriptions is $40 per month or there is a $119 years access to one level (which seems to make more sense to me rather than paying $40 for 3-4 months). For others that are using Creating a Masterpiece, can you tell me how you plan your year. It seems quite expensive to pay if I am only going to do 1 term of Pastels. If you pay for a year’s access, do you just do art all three terms in addition to having a handicraft(knitting, sewing, etc.) going on?
